1 Three Topics of Investigation and Research in Rural Education

Based on a great lot of first-hand on-the-spot investigation data that accumulated from the past a few years, the paper has a systematically analysis of the problems facing compulsory education funds in rural areas, rural teachers and the problems of dropping-out in rural junior schools.
     As for compulsory education funds in rural areas, the paper revealed the new contradictions during the course of“Taxes for Fees” reform and the implementation of “county-level” administration mechanism. It reflects that education funds are not raised, distributed and used properly. The keys for solving the shortage of compulsory education funds in rural areas are: through legislation to guarantee the investment,increase the transparency of funds input and use so as to overcome the deficiency of transferred pay system; continually bring into play multi-channel, as well as township’ enthusiasm for education; boost the reform of finance system, make sure special education funds are used for special intentions.
     As for rural teacher, the paper analyzes practical issues and their reasons. For example, the structures of rural teachers are not reasonable; there is no guarantee to make sure the teachers in rural schools to take part in in-serves continual education;the teachers in rural schools are still in poor living and working conditions. The author believes all of the teachers problems are aroused by unfair police, system, mechanism, and management measures and so on. The paper suggests some new polices and regulations to improve teachers situations, to facilitate exchange between rural teacher and urban teacher, to increase the quality of all teachers worked in rural schools.
     As for the drop out of school in rural junior schools, based on authentic rate of dropping out, the paper analyzes its local characteristics and its differences between rural schools and urban schools. And find it increases with grades and relates to genders. The paper has thoroughly analyzed its relating factors, such as education funds input, ways of the school management, curriculum and teaching quality, conditions of the student’s home, economy ,culture, country environment and outlets of post-junior schools. This article suggests that the government and the concerned department distribute education resource reasonably, regulate the school locations, improve teaching quality, enrich the student’s lives, enhance the quality of teachers, and reformulate the criteria of controlling the rate of dropping out of school.

116 Research on Educational Environment for International Division in Public School

In China, International Division for foreign students have been established in public schools. It is developed rapidly in Shanghai. The research chooses samples from International Division of four public schools in Shanghai, describes and analyzes the education environment such as system and management, curriculum and teaching, communication and life in International Division, and gives suggestions bases on reality and research as the followings: increase the number of teachers; reform management system; emphasize the function of government and researchers; develop effective communication and co-operation among schools; build a harmonious third culture.

241 Teacher Professional Development in Curriculum Change: A Case Study in Narrative Approach

This paper attempts to prove up how environmental factors affect teachers? What key factors accelerated teachers’ growth? The purpose of this story is trying to make reference for school teachers.
