Based on a tale of an influential woman weaver during 1930s in Shanghai, this paper aims to explore the life story of the needlewomen, a overlooked and marginal social group under the impact of industrialization. Although there are numerous researches about street children, most of them focus on negative aspects rather than their inner psychological mechanism. In this research we studied on 41 street children from rescue station in Beijing and Shanghai using the classic social psychology research methods such as questionnaire, semi-structured interview survey and narrative inquiry. Research focused on street children’s psychological mechanism, resilience, defense mechanism, behavior pattern and their influence factors. Aiming at didactic methods and ignoring reflecetive ability in traditional in-service teacher training in west China, this study designs the new teaching methods using reflection as the key element as a contrast to the traditional didactic methods without interaction; the intention of this research is to inspire in-service teachers’ reflective consciounsness and foster reflective ability, and the methods of collecting data are interviewing technique (individual and group interview), documenting the process, video taping teaching sessions (didactic vs reflective).The research finds that the new teaching methods is more effective for advancing teachers’ reflection, what’s more, teachers’ reflection develops towards higer levels. 2011 Vol. 14 (1): 183-235 [Abstract] ( 2716 ) [HTML 1KB] [ PDF 8128KB] ( 703 )
