Social mobility and Educational life after the abolition of Imperial Examination System��Centered on Mao Family in Jiangxi Province

Abstract Late Qing Dynasty taken innovation initiatives in political, economic, educational and another aspects, which the abolition of Imperial Examination System and rise of modern education have a profound impact on China's educational structure. So, what kind of result of social mobility can produced? And how the rise of modern education impacted the local community? This paper based on the correlation between education and social mobility, centered on the Mao Family in Jiangxi Province, through investigated the education life and social mobility of two generations, we discussed the interactive relationship between modern education, social mobility and social change.
