Abstract This paper reviews the developmental course of educational documentaries shot and released by the China Central Newsreel & Documentary (CCND) from 1949 to 1976 to explore the first-hand literature of the history of educational documentaries. In the first place, the paper is an addition to the research of education history. Secondly, it is a correction and re-exploration of the existing literature. It also restores the chaotic and loose historical materials of educational documentaries. Through the educational narrative of the CCND, the paper replays frame-by-frame the fragments of the educational stories that occurred in the early period of P.R.C. It tries to take an on-site view of education and its implication via documentaries. |
